User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer

We at LDR are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer passionate about researching, designing, testing, and applying user-centric products and experiences. Founded in 2013, LDR has a global team comprising of seasoned mariners, experienced research scientists, and business development executives – all focused on delivering cutting-edge remote sensing solutions to the maritime industry. We specialize in automated ship collision avoidance and (semi-) submerged target detection technologies. We understand the industry’s needs for increased ship safety and collision avoidance solutions and the demands of the upcoming unmanned and autonomous vessel technologies market. We, together with a consortium of partners, have won a project, focused on enhancing safer navigation at Sea, spanning 3.5 years. This project marks the first step towards autonomous shipping. As a UI/UX Designer your responsibilities will include:

Essential:

  • Collaborating with the in-house cross-functional team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and create inclusive user experience
  • Organize and lead research to ensure users are integral to the design process
  • Translate complex technical information into engaging and easy-to-understand digital content that meets the needs of the target audience
  • Quickly and iteratively produce sketched concepts, user journeys, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that reflect user needs
  • Create surveys to gather feedback on users’ ease of use and satisfaction interfacing on company product
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems. Use analytics and metrics to make informed design decisions.
  • Desirable:

  • Use recent studies and findings to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences
  • Evaluate and recommend the latest and most suitable UX tools and ensure our processes follow the best UX standards and practices
  • About you:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of end-user design experience in a dynamic environment
  • Intuitive grasp of UI and usability best practices, emerging trends, and constraints
  • Strong portfolio of UX solutions with exceptional visual design and solid information architecture
  • Advanced proficiency with design (photoshop/illustrator/Sketch/Adobe XD) and prototyping tools (Azure, InDesign, or equivalent)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Experience creating storyboards and product prototyping
  • Great communication, organization, and presentation skills and a passion for problem solving/process improvement
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-lingual geographically dispersed team and customers
  • Knowledge of Teams will be considered a plus
  • Ability to multitask and a keen eye for detail
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work in a team and independently
